Choosing a Website Domain Name
How to choose domain names?
This is the first question that many people ask.
There is an explosion of websites being created today by many people for many reasons. Some are simple online brochures and some are for online stores. Whether you are building it as a simple online brochure or an online store, naming it is an important factor to the success of your online business. Your domain name is somewhat like a brand and it stays with you for a long long time.
On the Internet, your address is your domain name; the part of an Internet address that comes after the www. Dot com domain names continue to sell like hotcakes. Currently, there are more than 20 million dot com domains, and over 34 million total domains registered worldwide. Industry experts forecast that more than 500 million domains will be registered in the next ten years.
Because of the importance of your domain name there are some things you should know when choosing a great website domain name.
One important thing to remember is that domain names can only contain letters, numbers, or hyphens. Underbars and exclamation marks are not allowed. There are some instances that the period also plays a role for you to name domain names for the reason that the period serves as a separation between words.
Since it’s important to remember that the domain name is critical for the success of your web site, if you are truly in business and treat your business like a business, then you will want to spend the few dollars to purchase a keyword based domain name. Many internet users remember web sites based on their domain names. As such, the domain name may influence the anchor text of inbound links and the ranking in search engines. It is necessary, therefore, to know something about the issues surrounding the naming of domain names.
One of the issues is “Branding”. You should always begin your search for a domain name by including the name of your company. Most people name domain names based on their brand names. Some examples of branded domain names are Yahoo!, Google, Amazon, Monster, and eBay.
Another important factor in selecting domain names is the keyword. Instead of using a brand name to name domain names, some companies used a keyword domain to take advantage of search engine traffic. Perhaps you can identify keywords that describe the content of your website. Many people prefer naming their domain with a keyword to give an improved chance to be able to rank higher for targeted keywords, and so benefit from added traffic. When selecting a keyword domain name, ideally you want the main keyword as the first word in the domain name. While that may not always be possible, it is where you want to start.
There are so many new websites coming online almost daily and the number of new website domain name registrations increase every month, making finding the right website domain name pretty tough. It is, therefore, important you begin your search for the right domain name as soon as possible. Putting this off can make it more expensive in the future to secure the right domain name.
Global Domains International Inc., also known as GDI, has the exclusive license agreement to distribute the dot WS domains (.WS). GDI has also developed a MLM Home Business Opportunity to distribute and market these domains. This approach has worked well which offers huge potential incomes to members with minimum work and technical knowledge of the internet.
The GDI system actually combines multi-level-marketing (network marketing) with internet marketing. Robert Allen of “Multiple Streams of Income” stated in his book that “network marketing” and “internet marketing” are two profitable and easy streams of income. Now Global Domains International actually combined these two streams into one allowing members to participate in network marketing with internet marketing on complete automation.

Excellent info.
I have about 50 ‘MLM’ related domains that I have decided to sell.
If anyone is interested in one or all 50 please let me know.

Choosing a domain is a pain. I’ve heard it’s best to use your own name for branding with mlm, but I also have heard about using keywords in the domain.
I’m not sure what the answer is.
